Meet the Staff

Pastor Mike Freeman

Missouri was home to my wife and I for 31 years. We met there, fell in love, began to raise a family and followed God’s calling into ministry. I was pastor of a rural church for 9 years, which became the fastest growing church in the area (increasing by 700% while we were there). Hundreds of people came from un-churched backgrounds and found life like they had only dreamed of. They became our family!!! Leaving our "family" to begin a new church in El Paso was the hardest thing my wife, four children and I have ever done. But God’s desire was clear and we have come with His promise to give life to all who will accept it. It took only days to fall in love with El Paso. It quickly became apparent that God had been preparing us for this place all our lives!!!

Christ is the Lord of our life and he has given us joy, strength, guidance and promise, we want to share that with you! It is our conviction that Jesus died for us all so that we may have Life.

"So whoever has God’s Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life." 1 John 5:12 It is our commitment to God and El Paso to be contemporary, youthful, honest and ALIVE in a personal effort to bring our new "family" to His Son.

Relationships are eternally important to us, and we are finding that many El Pasoans share that passion. God has been preparing more people than my wife and I, and now he is bringing us together. One of the first young men I met here shared "I have been waiting for you and your family for two years. This is going to be big!!!" Realizing God’s vision for the River, I agree. The flood waters are building, a body is developing, and every person whom God brings aboard adds diversity and strength. Very soon the flood gates will open and the River will be born. Is God calling you to dive in? Are you one of the people God has been preparing for such a time as his? Have you been looking for a meaningful relationship with God and with others like you? Do you have the Son? Do you have real Life? Come test the water and "Quench your thirst...for Life!"

Associate Pastor Lonnie Crim

Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Lonnie is a native Texan at heart. He spent his childhood years in Allen, TX until his freshman year of high school when his family moved to a little town in southern Missouri. He met Pamela there, became high school sweethearts and eventually they married. After Graduating form high school, Lonnie joined the United States Army. He served all over the globe for almost 8 years.

Leaving the military, he moved back home to Allen and started a business with his wife Pamela. In October of 2003 he and his family received the call from God to come to El Paso and help Pastor Mike (Pamela’s brother) plant this church.

He is using his business experience to serve as the church administrator at The River as well as handling the graphics/web design and development. After being here a short time, he felt the call from God to become the Discipleship Pastor. He is committed to the growth of Christians and has a passion for helping them do just that.

Future Additions to Staff

Staff On Purpose:
We will add staff to fill a specific purpose of the church, i.e. Fellowship Pastor, Ministry Pastor, etc. We look for Passion first and foremost even before experience. We are looking for a vibrant and living church and need people to serve in a passionate way in order to achieve this. Our staff will be evaluated based on their God given SHAPE and placed accordingly.
